WCR Generator & NP Agreement Guide: Automating Work Completion Reports for DISCOMs & National Portal

What is a Solar Work Completion Report (WCR)?

A Work Completion Report (WCR) is a statutory compliance document mandated by state electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs) such as MSEDCL, TPDDL, BESCOM, UGVCL, and the PM Surya Ghar National Portal. It certifies that the grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (RTSPV) system has been installed in full compliance with MNRE guidelines, CEA regulations, and Indian electrical safety standards.

Mandatory Details Required in a Standard WCR

Submitting an incomplete WCR is the #1 reason for inspection delays and stalled subsidy approvals. Every WCR document must contain:

  • Consumer & Site Information: Consumer number, tariff category, sanctioned load, address, and sanctioned solar capacity.
  • Solar PV Modules Details: Module manufacturer, model numbers, serial numbers, individual module wattage, total number of modules, and DCR certificate numbers.
  • Grid-Tied Inverter Specification: Inverter make, model, rated AC capacity, serial numbers, and anti-islanding test certification details.
  • Balance of System (BOS): ACDB/DCDB protection devices, MC4 connectors, SPD surge protection ratings, and earthing pit resistance measurements (≤ 5 Ohms).
  • Geo-Tagged Site Photographs: Clear photos of the installed solar array, inverter display, earthing electrodes, and net meter location.

What is an NP (Net Metering) Agreement?

The Net Metering Agreement (often referred to as the NP Agreement or Interconnection Agreement) is the legal contract between the electricity consumer and the local DISCOM. It governs the export and import energy accounting, settlement tariffs, banking periods, and metering standards for the solar power system.

The Challenge: Manual Documentation Overhead

For a solar installer completing 15 installations a week, manually typing module serial numbers, drawing single line diagrams (SLD), and compiling WCR packets in Word takes over 4 to 5 hours per project. Simple typographical errors can delay the DISCOM joint inspection by weeks.

How SaurSaarthi's 1-Click WCR & NP Agreement Generator Works

With SaurSaarthi's built-in WCR Generator, the entire documentation process is fully automated:

  1. Direct Data Fetching: System specifications (module serials, inverter specs, consumer number, and installer credentials) are automatically pulled from the site survey and project record.
  2. DISCOM Standard Templates: Select your state utility template (MSEDCL, Tata Power, Torrent, Adani, BESCOM, etc.).
  3. Geo-Tagged Photo Insertion: Installation site photos captured during mobile commissioning are automatically embedded with coordinates and timestamps.
  4. Instant PDF Export: Download high-resolution, print-ready WCR and NP Agreement PDFs ready for digital signature and National Portal upload.
"Our team eliminated documentation rejections completely. SaurSaarthi generates our complete WCR packet with serial numbers and photos in 30 seconds."
